what harm would it do to do a ifs swap? is the dana 50 (ford ifs) beefy? or is this a pointless thought? my brain is going 100 miles an hour with ideas for my hb!

If the Ford cross member fits in the Nissan frame, you'd be OK. My concern is that the Nissan frame might be a bit narrow.

The D50 IFS's used leaf springs, not coils. I suspect they're easily converted though.

The Ford IFS can be tuned for huge travel and a Nissan drivetrain ain't gonna break it. Steering could be a mess. You'll at the very least need Ford steering and a custom draglink. And the suspension mount crossmember has to be welded into the frame exacltly true for the truck to track well and come close to an alignment.

It'd be cool. I'd like to see it!

Very true.

If you run lots of muddy trails with no rocks, IFS isn't so bad. Mor GC up front than solid(with same size tires)

SLR makes a racing IFS setup for about 850 bucks I believe. Quite durable, and Andy has it on his 2000 frontier. And he drives to the limit, and this thing (slr ifs) is still holding up. Only flaw to date I believe was a bronze bushing of some sort, but was replaced with something stronger. (andy, help me on this one)

The F150 would have the D44 IFS. The F250's had the D50.
