so i know the toyotas have had the electric locker option for the rear axle for several years now. is there anything like that aside from an air locker available to fit the h233? i've never found anything, but i know the new fronty's have the electric locker in the rear end now. i don't wheel enough to warrant a full time mechanical unit, plus i don't want to die when it snows, haha. anyone have any thoughts on the possibility of making a yota unit work? or would it require replacing the entire rear axle for a yota one?
The yota locker won't work in the Nissan diff. Lockers are very specific items and typically only work in the applications for which they're intended. That said, an ARB is your only part time option for your H233B. They're definitely a worthwhile investment in capability.

Those factory locked 'yota axles are really rare and people know that and what they are. Therefore, sourcing one and making it work under your Nissan would probably cost as much if not more than an ARB. Also, the stock electric solenoids are prone to failure.

BUT if you let someone borrow your junk, wifey or girlfriend or mom or dad, and they don't know how to drive a rig with a locker, when they hit ice/snow they is so gonna crash that mofo! -Rondo

eh, i didn't really expect someone to say the yota stuff would work, but i figured it was worthwhile to ask. i didn't realize that the new frontys had the dana axle either. thanks folks
