Remember this?

Well, Marshall stopped by yesterday armed with Coronas to fix the truck. I cut the ends off a Hardbody main leaf I had laying around to replace the broken leaf. We also added an additional 35" leaf on each side and then used the thinner overloads from the Hardbody packs. The truck sits maybe a half inch higher in back now, but it should stiffen up the ride.

Blew me away that the Xterras changed their leaf configuration somewhere between his 2000 and my 2002. Mine only has 2 thick main leaves and the overload.

Thanks for the update Andy. Glad yall drank out the solution!!! Smile
I still have the leaf fanning issue. I hope it doesnt lead to this situation. I am dropping the axle again to try to straighten it out.
I thought the leaf pack differed from year to year. Thanks for the confirmation.
I had the leaves in order-and clamped with a stock strap, then went wheelin' for an hour and they scooted over a good 1"..WTF? I guess I am lucky not to break a main leaf and have to limp home all chained up.

see if this pic shows the droop on the passengerside rear tire---thats where the "fanning" is happening.
I like the new hybrid pack idea. ^%$& those cheap AAls. Make your own pack!!

I have one that keeps fanning too. Mikey found some cool clamps...can't remember the website, but I'll find out. That should solve the problem.

I was thinking of just making some, but am afraid that a "killer clamp" might lead to a stressed/broken spring.
But DO let me know if you have that link.
I hope to be rid of these probs and on to new ones soon Wink

Feito, the clamps are from 4 Wheelers Supply here in AZ. I actually have 2 pairs that are just like Andy's that I am not going to use... so if you want them I will give em to ya for $10 for both + shipping.
