I just purchased an '03 XTerra - SE -SC. Among the many mods I am currently executing, one of the first and foremost is E-Code Headlamps with HID Hi/Lo's. Unfortunately, I can't find the E-Code Replacement Lamps anywhere... Any suggestions? The Plastic DOT's in the truck now suck and have glare for days... Also, any suggestions on rear fog(s)?
There are no E-code lights for the 03 X. The 02+ lights are actually quite good compared to the old refractive type. I had toyed with getting a set of E-code lights from a mainland Euro Frontier/Navara truck for my 00 Xterra but I decided against it, I find the lights adequate.
Rear fogs: Who needs 'em? I find them extremely annoying on the late-model Mercedes, Audi, etc. models here. I suppose they're useful when conditions actually call for them, but just like front fogs, 99% of the idiots out there use them all the time. They're especially annoying at night when you're practically squinting at them.

Thanks, What do you think of upgrading the DOT's to HID's? I have had good luck with the Hella Ballast's on other cars. Sadly, I know what you are saying about the rear fogs... They are annoying if used improperly, I live in Michigan and between the sometimes blinding snows, heavy rains off the lake, and fog, we need them... I just want to make sure I can see out front w/o making people mad and been seen from the back so I don't have to have an unscheduled get-together....
Not sure about the round 02+ lights, but I know someone with an 00 that has swapped in the Nismo clear/reflective housings and installed HID bulbs: http://www.nissanoffroad.net/messageboard/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=5252 I suppose something similar could be done for the 02+ lights, although different housings aren't available that I know of, nor would they be needed really since you already have the reflective type anyway.

Another option to throw into the mix is to replace the standard halogen bulbs (H7 I think?) with some premium aftermarket bulbs. PIAA and a small number of other bulb sources fit the bill for this.
I've been very pleased with the performance of my PIAA extreem white bulbs. Also, higher perfornce H3, 55 watt bulbs can be swapped into the OEM fog lights as well.
