Hi! everybody I'm new to this forum I got i4 xterra 2wd(nothing exciting) I like it otherwise. any how whats my gear axle and ratio, the door jam says CA 48. I know CA stands for c200 axle but don't know if its 4.3 or 4.6 ratio thanks

CA48 I would guess means a C200 rear with 4.88 gears.

is it possible to have 4.88. I tought the gear ratios are 4.3,4.6 and 4.9. thanks

It may be that it's a 4.88 on the C200, and a 4.9 on the H233B.

Somebody get a hold of Brent; I know he'll know.

That's a new one on me. CA46 would indicate the 4.625 gears in the C200, but CA48...I'd like the details on that once someone figures it out and I'll edit the "what axle do I have" thread in the How To forum.

According to the spec I have see at: vehicle specs, it would be 4.875 (4.88)for the I4

Yup, 4.875.

Interestingly enough, the parts system says the 4-cylinder 00-01 models got 4.625, and the 02+ got 4.375. But the Nissannews archives say 4.375 for the older ones.

Either way, the axle code on the vehicle itself is the definitive answer.
