Ok this is a relativity question
How long after i put on my 3 inch SL can I safely wait for a Steering upgrade. I would ideally like to wait 4-6 months to put the steering upgrade in. WOuld this be feasable or should i just save my money for 4 months and get em both at the same time? Also if i did the lift and no Steering Upgrade what kind of problems would i encounter?? you may be a king or a little street sweeper but sooner or later you'll meet the reaper |

depends on when the stock CL goes to crap. Could be one wheeling trip, might last you years....just depends if you do that one meneuver that fries one. They can be nursed for a long time. They can be flogged just a few.

ok that was pretty much the answer i knew id get.
Ok so its the centerlink that goes bad. How much of a PITA is it to replace and how expensive are used ones from a wrecking yard(average) you may be a king or a little street sweeper but sooner or later you'll meet the reaper |

I'm going to do the steering first. Function over form. The lift will raise the weight above it's designed location and put more stress on your steering especially in off road situations.
500.00 for the Calmini.......about a hundred for a stock center link. |

I am waiting on my 3inch SL from calmini now and then i am going to order the steering but i think i will wait and do them both together i drive my truck everyday and would rather have it all done at the same time.

If you keep it on the street after getting the suspension lift the centerlink will last until you get the steering fix, just don't take it off-road until then. Centerlink is not the only thing that goes bad, bent tie-rods are another common thing when taking lifted Nissans off-road.
IMO I would just wait until you have enough for both. Matt BoBBed BeeOch *Under Construction* http://www.highboyz.com/ |

I think what im going to do is the steering upgrade first than save the cash for the lift. That way i already have beefier steering components. Can i install the calmini steering components on a non lifted truck??
