True... I painted mine black and still keep watch to make sure I didn't miss anything or that bare steel is not showing through again.
One thing, it appears you got the same tie-rod adjuster arms that I first got, those are the ones for the Long Travel Kit. I had TC make me up a set (I think they carry them now) that are about 1/2" shorter. What you may find is that you can only lift the front end so far before you can't align properly (instead of 3" lift, you can only go about 1-1 1/2"). With the shorter adjusters, there is no problem. Otherwise, looks good. I have had mine for 1 1/2 years now and like Andy said, I've wheeled the heck out of it with no issues. Love my Total Choas. Although, I know it would look better if matched with the Long Travel kit. --------------------------------------------------------- 04 SAS Frontier, 8" Lift Total, 35x12.5x15 MT's with Staun Internal Beadlockers, Calmini Crawler Gears, ARB Front & Rear Air Lockers. |

On my original adjusters, I ran out of threads and could not adjust them anymore, I sent pictures to TC to show them and they ended up sending me the ones that are 1/2" shorter. I wouldn't worry about it unless you find you run out of threads when trying to align it.
Let us know how it goes... --------------------------------------------------------- 04 SAS Frontier, 8" Lift Total, 35x12.5x15 MT's with Staun Internal Beadlockers, Calmini Crawler Gears, ARB Front & Rear Air Lockers. |

How do you take care of your heims??? I worry about dirt and such getting in and ruining those beautiful joints but given they are used in a bunch of high end applications there must be some way of keeping them in good shape...We in the northeast though don't have a bunch of experience with them though....

Actually... I don't do really anthing to them, I have sprayed a little WD40 on them but they stay clean without me doing anything. Someone could chime in here if they know something...

We use heims in aviation. Dirt, grease, crud gets between the bearing and the bearing housing causing wear (up and down play). You might misunderstand this as lateral play. You can not measure lateral play on a bearing which rotates. You can spray a lubricant to keep crud off. Heims wear naturally over time. the only thing you can do is keep them clean. There a consumable. On the ground I would care less about play( not like your in the sky). As long as the bearing is in the housing your good to go. If you can excessively move housing up and down on the bearing you have a problem. 1995 KC XE-V6 4x4. |

The rotors are RAYBESTOS Part # 9909PL and 9909PR . partsamerica has them for 99.99, rockauto lists $77.79. I have them installed on my hardbody. They do good with a full metallic pad. I have full ceramic pads right now. They donut work that well with the drilled rotors. I did not notice that much of a difference. I noticed better stopping ability when I upgraded to stainless brake lines. 1995 KC XE-V6 4x4. |
