I waited like almost 1.5 years myself, or more. D'ohhh. There was a LOT of sh*t built up and the filters were nasty.

If you got 'em - make sure you clean them at least once a year, and checking them every six months isn't a bad idea, either.

If you check them regularly, you can even wash them - I just did this. Soak the filter with water, hit it hard with Simple Green and allow to soak for ten minutes or so. Rinse well, allow to AIR DRY and reinstall - good as new! Not sure how many times you can do this, but it'll save ya some cash.

The procedure is included w/ the filter. All ya do is kinda remove the glovebox ,and expose the area that is to be cut out.... you make the cut w/ a sharp utility knife , pop in the filters, and put it all back together.
The "cut" line is already outlined in the housing for you.

It'd be nice if the microfilters could be retrofitted to the oldschool hardbody trucks. I could definitely use one.

I've got the filters but never have changed em. I keep thinking that they will plug up to where flow will be restricted but haven't seen a limitation on flow yet. Is there some kind of bypass around a terminally plugged filter such that non-filtered air is actually entering through the AC/heater?

There is no bypass. As for waiting for a reduction in flow; don't kid yourself. It happens so slow you might not realize it.

After replacing my first set (they were hosed) and doing the "Fresh Air Mod" the A/C definitely works better.

I believe that the microfilter filters ONLY THE A/C and not fresh air as I understand it. I'll double check to make sure on this.

Just today for the first time I lifted up the foam on top of the radiator and found a little pile of leaves/funk that must've been slowly building up on the condensor. Washed that out along with the rest of the radiator. Hey, every little bit helps.
