Only drew blood from one knuckle. Broke three allen wrenches and one pickle-fork. I was surprised. First by all the junk you have to remove to get the LCAs off: shocks, torsion bars, hubs, and half-shafts. Then by how easily the replacement LCAs went into place after fighting to get the old ones off.
I did learn that you should break loose the bolts on both half-shafts before removing the first if you are pulling both sides at once. I had to put the hub back on the second axle and lock the brakes to get the bolts on the second side free. After that the only trick is getting the torsion bar mount on the splined LCA bolt when you re-assemble. -- If I were a medical man I would prescribe a vacation for any patient who thought their work important. |

T-bar bolt was a pain when I drooped my LCA. I've never had any problems with cv bolts not wanting to break loose. Usually I'll just hold the cv shaft and brake the bolt with a ratchet.
