I was wondering what winches everyone runs? I also wanted to know why people say to run warns, for the fact everyone has them and people say parts are interchangeable. I have a Champion 8000Lbs winch I bought for $250. This winch suits my purpose, for now. It was cheep and lets me fabricate a mount on the front bumper.

Now back to what I really wanted to know, what winch does everyone run on their vehicles?

The brands I know about:
Black Mountain
Bull Dog
Champion
Chicago Electric (harbor freight)
Mile Marker
Ramsey
Superwinch
T-Max
Warn

milemarker....warns are overpriced.

First I went with the PE8000 because mike at A/C said the 12000 I originally ordered with my arb would not fit.

I have since installed a 12,000 up front saving the 8,000 in the back. The 12 is sure as he!! No joke.

In my opinion milemarker you get what you pay for... Warns are the best but so expensive.

I like warn too, it is just that a warn winch is not in the budget for awhile and this alowes me to have a winch, and learn how to use it properly. plus I can alway sell this one when I do upgrade in a year or so.

I say Warn... then Ramsey... then Mile Marker...
I've heard awful things about customer service from Mile Marker... but to each his own... Warn is the most used winch in the world, and it isn't because they're the most expensive... Chug

I picked up my Warn 8000 for $200 used. I'm a huge fan of Warn. I'm not trying to knock the others as they can get the job done as well, I just feel a lot more secure with the big W on my winches.
Lator....
