Hello, new guy here needing your suggestion(s) please.
The 'Check Engine' light came on, and I pulled a code 32 (EGR not responding). After replacing the EGR valve, and clearing the codes, the light came back on a little later with the same fault??? My question is...a vacuum line from the EGR is going to a coil close to the EGRunit itself. What is that coil and can it affect the operation of the EGR? Thanks.. '95 Pathfinder XE |

When the engine reaches 2000rpm, among other conditions, the EGR solenoid begins to send vacuum to the EGR valve. The problem is most likely caused by a faulty solenoid or bad wiring or connections. You can check this but it's best to have the rear wheels in the air...so you might want to take it to a shop if you don't have a flat surface to use.
Jack up the rear end, and support it safely. Run the engine at just over 2000rpm in 1st gear and make sure there's vacuum on the hose connected to the EGR. If there isn't, check the vacuum lines. If they are ok, check the wiring. If that's ok, replace the solenoid. oh, you have a PM. |

W..can't seem to locate the fuse you alluded to in your private message. All the other test(s) check out okay, other than the fuse. Could it be a ghost false positive?
