It would probably work ok.. but dont expect it to perform like a $500 or $1000 camera. With digital cameras, you basically get what you pay for no matter what you buy. If you go cheap, it will probably work fine as a camera, but you wont get the level of super-crisp & realistic looking images that a well known brand with a good lens & components will give.

That's ok. It's also cheaper that

The EOS are really nice. I definitely wouldnt mind one.

I don't think Gateway makes those cameras, they are like rebadges of a kodak or something. the Gateway rep that comes to my work was really talking them up (of course he sells them) but from what he said they seemed pretty decent.



It Never Ends...

If you could figure out what camera they've rebadged, you could find some reviews..

If its a Kodak, they take decent photos.. but I cant remember if they use funky storage.. you want to find one that uses a CF (compact flash) card. Thats pretty much the standard now for cameras and seems to be the storage medium that is getting the most technology advancement (1gb-3gb microdrive support, etc)

edit.. just looked at the site.. and it looks like it uses SD/MMC. Funny that it has 11meg of internal memory. That will hold *mabye* 1 high res photo. My 5mp in high quality mode dumps out a 30-40meg file for one image.
