I scored a free air compressor from a late 90s Rover. Are these things worth using? Could it be better than my worn out Caddy compressor?

Does it require "spanners" and a "workshop" to install? Big Grin

It's guaranteed to leak, unless it's empty. Big Grin

I hooked it up and it's better. Not much better, but it doesn't leak.

I took the bracket off of the caddy, bent it up, and this was the result. I can't believe it fit.

0-90psi, ~4gal, ~7minutes...

It takes about 6 minutes to go from 15-40psi without the tank. Using the tank, the first tire will fill much quicker.

Not quite goo enough for air tools. IF I ever go on board air I want a pump good enough to run an air ratchet.

Same here. I'll try it out this week and see how long it will run a ratchet.

I remember reading that certain year Range Rovers came with ARB compressors for the air suspension.
Any truth to that?

I ran thew old caddy air compressors for a while and it worked well with an air tank.
Then I discovered the wonderful world of CO2.
hehehehehe

If you have sliders, plumb them as air tanks as well, or make a rear bumper into a tank.
Good stuff.

Lots of Range Rovers and Discos have air bags but I dunno about an ARB compressor. This one isn't.

I talk to a guy the other day with a old arb compressor. He said it works good for the lockers buts days forever to pump up a tire. He did say it's a small and convent compressor.

You can't beat a York 210. They are super cheap nowdays in the junkyard.. $20-$30 for a compressor that'll run air tools straight off the pump.
