I am about to upgrade from whatever battery is currently in my truck (some cheap-o crap no doubt) to something better.

So my question is:
What is everyone's battery preference?

I know Summit Racing is selling Optima Red Tops for about $86 right now on sale, and I saw that Wally World has Everstart marine batteries for around $50.

So post up!

PS: I know I posted this on AC too; please don't shoot me.

Optima red top - and $86 is a steal on those. They can mount in any position, never need maintenance, and don't get all that white nasty corrosion on them.

Greg, you used "bed" instead of "bet" when mentioning our illustrious she-he governor. Is there something you feel you need to tell us?

... I was in Pep Boys and they have two sizes of red-tops one was like $109.99 and the other was like $119.99. It seems like one was a 75? size and the other was a 78?size...

Warranties were the same i.e. two year full and 84 months pro rated. I didn't see the CCA written on the sign... but I'll bet there is less CCA in the cheaper one...

Good luck and .. and … CUL.. Don S..

Yeah I figured $99+ 8% tax at costco was decent, but $92 out the door...(at my door) was even better. Great deal really.

So 92.80 for an Optima is a smoking deal and apparently the best battery I can get a hold of (other than a yellow top).

Can't I be the Summit Racing expert? It's another good find!
