Hey I was in a real hurry to install a new battery, and I think I put it in backwards and fryed my crap. How much damage did I cause, and more importantly, how much will it cost to fix everything?

DANG!!! I guess it depends on what you switched on. If no wires are visibly fried, try connecting it the right way and see what happens.

Prolly ground wires are fried, as well as alot of harness's, battery , alternator, some fuses/fusible links, etc..

NOt going to be a cheap fix.

Good luck.

Yeah it starts and runs but its all whacked out. Only starts if the headlights are turned on, and there is always that buzzer that goes off whrn the doors are open. The light indicator that says a door is open is always on, even when there isnt. What else..the runnig lights always stay on even when the car is off...Stereo no worky...thats all I have noticed so far. wires dont look fried, but there was some smoke involved on the harnesess that are directly connected to the battery.

It sounds to me like you had better investigate the section that produced smoke, first. Find what smoked and repair/replace it. As for the lights, I think you may have roasted a relay or two under the hood. That would account for some of it. That ought ot be enough to get you started on the repairs.
If that is all that happened, you're pretty lucky! It could have cooked the ECU.
I think this bears repeating: DANG!

Do you have full coverage? The repairs should be covered under it.

Nah you're not a dumbass. I really hope you can get it fixed. I had no idea putting a battery in backwards would totally fry everything like that. I'd start off with replacing ALL of the relays and fuses I could find, and checking the wires that were smoking and probably replace those then see what happens. You more than likely ruined the battery you put in so I'd pick up another battery as well. Just keep us posted on how it turns out for ya'.

The word from the shop is that I may have fryed the alarm, and hence it wouldnt start. They are going to try to bypass it tommorrow and see if that works. Im crossing my fingers.

Fixed now. Pretty much fried the alarm, and thats why it wouldnt start. Just had them bypass the alarm, all works good, except the power locks, but whatever. And best of all the bill came out to 235. Hats off to TMK auto repair, if you ever need auto repair these guys were good.
