I have blown 2 fuses in the last week for the dash instruments. It has happened after putting it in 4wd for only a few minutes. Any ideas?

Your truck isn't supposed to see 2wd... You are a mall crawler...just like me smiley46

Check to make sure any accessories that you have put on are not shorting out the gagues.

time to trade with me Smile

Pull the gauges and have a look around. If it's not in there, check the igntion switch. Good luck finding it.

If you want to do it the wreckless way, stick a piece of 12ga wire where the fuse goes and look for smoke Big Grin

I pulled the gauges and disconected them. Then I put a new fuse in and shifted to 4hi. Blew it again. If I have time tomorow, I am going to pull the linkage and see if I can narrow it down. I have to get more fuses though.

k, I forgot to say look at the wiring under the truck and in the truck for the 4wd light. Most likely if it's the problem it will be under.

When we lost dash lights in the Sentra, it turned out to be the dimmer switch on the dash.

Well, it turned out to be the 4x4 switch in the case. $20.00 part and I am no longer blowing fuses. I thought I would update this thread in case someone decdes to do a search.

wow....seems everything is connected to the panel lights. my old pathy spent an entire overnight road trip with no taillights (thank you understanding police officer) and no guages because of a loose spare wire behind the stereo. went through 5 fuses trying to keep the lights burning that night.
