Hey all,
Ok I just got a 2000 Frontier CC 4X4 and the "PREMIUM" system sucks. I want to change out the factory speekers and add aftermarket. I also want a little BASS. Any ideas. Behind the back seat? How have you done it?

Here's what I did:

Infinity reference speakers in the doors ran off the head unit.

Two 8" Subs in back ran off an amp (disconnected the rear stock speakers all toghether).

Look on eBay for good deals.

My problem is I have the Crew Cab. There is very little room behind the back seat. Has anyone built a custom box to put back there? I dont need allot of bass but some 8" would be nice. I have a Kenwood SIRIUS head unit I am going to install and put in some aftermarket door speekers. I think that the front are 6 1/2" and the rear are 5?ish.

I just checked under the seat and there is VERY little room there. I'm not sure if I can even fit my AMP under there.

Hi,

Subs in the CC aren't easy. If you search the Sound Domain forums (www.sounddomain.com) or nissanfrontier.net, you can get some ideas of custom installs.

The Q-Logic small truck box would be an extremely tight fit, and only holds an 8" sub. If I'm not mistaken, this will fit if you extend the latch on the rear seat out an inch or so.

Sub Solutions offers, well, a solution, but it's pricey. Link and scroll down the page to the Crew Cab Sub.

There is no room at all under the rear seat bottom, as it's nothing more than a foam cushion that sits on the floor of the truck.

Regards,

-matt

All right. Thanks allot for the help. I think that I am going to get back there and measure everything out. I may do my own box. I may go check out the Sub Solutions on my way home.
