It’s a closed system. Three things it could be. Fuse, relay, switch. Start troubleshooting these systems. I would put my money on wither a bad switch or a bad motor. If the wiper motor is turning on that means the fuse and relay is good.
Check the switch first. Chances are there’s debris causing bad/no connection. 1995 KC XE-V6 4x4. |

agreed, something on the switch or connecters, is crossing. has the wiper motor/module gotten wet? the little module deal on the motor may be going bad

well i replaced the amplifer box...still the same stuff.....took the circle board off the winshield motor...looked on cleaned that and contacts look ok.......took switch apart...nothing looks out of place....the motor stops if i unplug it tho....but it stops where ever the power is killed....it never resets......is there anything under the dash the goes with the system.....i have the obd-II plug the there are two other plugs in the general area not plugged to anything....i think one is for the rear abs but what could the other be..

do you have a multi meter? if so disconnect the plug from the switch and from the motor. find the power wire from the switch to the motor, put one lead on that, then check for continuity between any of the other wires with the other lead, if you find something you might have a short, check a wiring diagram to verify, i am not sure how your truck is wired. thats where i would start if everthing else checked out ok.
oh yeah, which speed is it stuck in? delay, low, or high... late... '96 Altima... lets hit the rocks!! '79 Bronco... gotta get the groceries somehow |

yea..decent with the meter......i will try that......its stuck on low.....its has delay....but when u put it on off, or delay.....it just runs slow.......then high goes to high.....and back again....switch feels like all the notches are good and the contacts looked good....its almost like the park switch doesnt park it.....is there anything else in the system besides the amplifier? i have to empty plugs close to my obdII plug

this might be hard to understand, because its tough to explain...
like i said I am not 100% sure how your truck is wired, maybe someone could give you some help. a basic wiper system is wired to where when you turn the wipers off they stay energized until they are in the park(rest) postion. usually accomplished by an eccentric on the motor that is powered throught the low speed circiut... think of it as a wire, that when the switch is in the off position powers the motor through 364 degrees or its revolution, the last degree is the park postion... so when the wipers come to the last degree the power is cut off and the wipers come to a stop, until the switch turns them on again. if you can't find a cross in the wiring from the switch to the motor with the meter... find someone with the same truck and swap them out right quick... if the problem is still present, recheck wiring/switch. if it goes away, bingo new motor/module hope this is all understandable(is that a word?) late... I had the same problem on a GMC van. A ground wire was disconnected which allowed the delay circuit to go bonkers. Reattached the ground and all was good.
Have you been messing with the wiring recently? |

you might want to focus on that part of the system, when you wash your windshield the wipers operate in low speed, so if there is a short somewhere in the washer system(always on) then your wipers will constantly be washing.
snag a wiring diagram and check out the washer circuit, see if it has a relay or fuse not associated with the wipers, pull it, and see if your problem stops late... '96 Altima... lets hit the rocks!! '79 Bronco... gotta get the groceries somehow |

Finally got it nailed....after someone mentioned about the pump staying on too when plugged it...it clicked....i checked the switch again.....took it apart again and checked the contact for the washer pump...it was bent in to far and running all the time...must have got jarred at somepoint....adjusted that and bingo....all good now!
