Chris,
The 96 HB manual says the front parking lamp wire is pink with a blue stripe. This wire is hot only when the lamps are on. Ricochet Negotiating "Mother" on Hite's Cove Trail. Photo: H. Chris,
I'm refering to the diagram in the Factory Service Manual (p. EL-51 for the 96HB). The parking lights, adjacent to the headlights, are pink with blue stripe, according to the book. These are termed "Front Clearence Lamps." As you have probably noticed finding that wire, whatever color it turns out to be, will be difficult at best as the wiring loom is one hell of a taped up octopus. The best thing to do, I think, and unless someone else has a better idea, is to remove one of those assemblies and splice into the wire near the lamp assy. That's what I did for my reverse lights. Worked great once I found a good ground for the relay. Ricochet Negotiating "Mother" on Hite's Cove Trail. Photo: H. Ballard '96 HB-XE KC M/T 4wd.
