I've noticed a couple things since I did this. First, they don't work unless the motor is running. Second, once you crank the motor, it might not do anything til it's been running a couple minutes.

Hey!

I built a box per the specifications, and tested it with a benchtop supply here at work, but It does squat when in the truck. How long did you have it run before it started giving you a heads up?

I should be more clear here. Does someone with a pre 96 Factory manual tell me if the LED lines for the pre-consult diagnostic are 5v or 12v TTL? I built my box using 12v LEDs, and have yet to get the computer to light them, and am thinking I need replace them with 5v LEDs.

Thanks!

I didn't even think about that...

I'll try to find the specs on the ones I used.

Did you ever find those specs? That would be extremely helpful.

Thanks!

Do both of the lights light up when you are in bulb check mode ( when the key is on and all the lights are on in the speedo )?

Crap I kept the packages for everything but I took it to work so I won't be able to get the numbers until Monday.

obewan, yes, both should light up. You won't be able to switch modes with the engine off though. At least that's how mine works.

I'm pretty sure these were the parts...

They are 12v, with a resistor inside. It doesn't mention the resistor on the web site though.

I haven't looked at wiring diagrams, but I suspect there's a fuse involved somewhere.

Check out this page? Yours was made in '86?

Looks like you have a similar ECU box as my 4 banger. I'd be real careful with that toggle switch on the side.
