What should be the resistance of the plug wires?
Mine range from 5k to 10k.

That depends on the mfg specs. But usually if you have continuity that is all you can tell from that test. There is little to no chance of getting one that is an ubsurd number like 1 ohm or 100k ohm.

OEMs are as good as any. Get them through ABC.

Ok will do. Mine are all taped up with black vinyl tape to cover the areas with big chunks taken out of them by the local rats that crawl under my hood and build nests. lol

So how would you know if they are bad?
My Pathy feels as if it is running on 4 cylinders. The cap and rotor seem ok, although I will be replacing them anyhow.

You can test wires with a garden hose and nozzle or a spary bottle. with a fine mist on 1 wire at a time if the idle gets rougher you have a bad wire, its good for checking boots on the plugs too.
