Has anyone ever used one of these? You would have to find the software, they recommend a few different ones, but I wanted to know if anyone has tried one of these.

Never hear of anyone using these. How much could you really alter your computer without any problems? I would much rather trust a company like jim wolf to alter my computer.

Unless I missed something this looks like a DB9 plug (to a computer) to a port that goes to the engine control module. Is that correct? I have just started investigating how to program the ECU for my own fuel maps instead of all of the electronic bullshit. This is just rambling but if the ECU can be programmed then most of the sensors can be eliminated. What I mean is the the ECU can be programmed like a carb. From my initial investigation it seems possible, the main underlying factor being the ignition advance and timing are sent to the ECU (not mechanically controlled by a belt) Sooooooooo....in theory if the ECU is reprogrammed using that cable and software (which I have seen a link to somewhere on this site, I can't remember where smiley35) then the sensors can be removed (my ultimate goal) and the fuel and air management can be programed as a linear equation. Soooooo...... No I have never used or seen that cable. I will watch this forum and keep investigating, If you find some info please email or PM me, if I find anything I will post here. mulebiking@yahoo.com

Its more of a monitor and troubleshoot type thing, I think. I wouldnt trust anything that I could alter in my driveway without dyno or o2 sensor tuning.

Mule-

Why in the hell do you want to eliminate the sensor's that keep your engine running at peak performance? All the carb guys want fuel injection, and it slays me seeing the fuel injection guys wanting to go back to a carb setup.

Its just a diagnostics cable, can only read sensors, not change them.

But I'd be quite happy to play with tuning if I had the ability to do it easily.
