I bought a nice water temp gauge yesterday on ebay. I have an idea of how I'll mount it, but I'd like to see some other ideas. Anybody make pods for Pathfinders yet?

How about on the A-piller using one of those plastic housings like the tuners use?
I plan to add a hood scoop to mine as part of the body makeover. It will be open in the back, giving me a place to mount vaccuum, oil pressure and amp gauges. I can plumb and wire them through the hood. They will be out of sight except to the driver. How does that grab ya'! Big Grin

AC had dual pods at one time for the A-pillers for D21/WD21s, but I think it was a special run and they are out. JP used the Honda Civic dual pods (not the full A-piller piece) on his HB and it seems to work fine. It has always been on my list of things to do, a ampmeter and tranny temp guage.

What year Civic? JP? Big Grin I dunno, since it won't fit perfect and the color won't match.

I'm going to build a box on the lower part of the dash on the right side...where the HB ebake handle would be. I moved the ecu light box under the stereo.

My trans temp gauge came with a little bracket, I ended up mounting it so:

I would say under the stereo, but it sounds like yours is full. I have a oil pressure and amp meter under mine.

I am still waiting on the call back on the Stewart-Warner 1.5" gauges but I am going to mount my oil pressure and tranny temp gauges in a custom pod right by the rearview mirror on the ceiling.

Heck! the vice grips and black tape oughta' be enough to hold it. You won't need the bracket. Razz

Is the light wired into the dimmer circuit?

Out of curiosity why did you want to have a water instead of transmission temperature gauge?

I needed it to help sort out some problems, and it was cheaper.

I might hook up the stock coolant sensor to the tranny...hmmm

Great looking gauge!

Are you going to use a crinkle paint on the mount to help it match the dash better?

Here's another idea but for a 94 HB. I think they have different interiors but probably not by much though.

[IMG:left] [/IMG][IMG:right] [/IMG]

Take off the lower trim and make sure there is enough space behind first. I had to cut a little into the composite bracket, but not enough to affect it. Next project: take it all apart again and paint the horrid, mismatched blue interior black. That should be lots of fun.
