The volt gauge in the dash has been creeping past 14 for some time now, so I measure across the battery terminals and get 14.05v. This doesn't seem high to me, but I wanted to know what ya'll think.
If I do need a new regulator, is it replaceable or an internal part of the alternator? |

14.05V is perfect. If it goes below 13 or above 15, then start to worry about it.

I know this is an older post, but I've got a similar problem.
With the truck running and everything off, the battery reads 13.4. Turn on the high beams, 12ish, stereo 11.5. The alternator is outputting since it jumps up from the mid 12's when started, but could it still be bad? The battery will take a cahrge and hold it for a few days, and doesn't drop off to awful bad when under starting load. What do I need to replace? ------------------------------ Reincarnation!! 95' Hardbody, Narrowed Front, Back on 31's for Now, Awaiting SAS!! |
