I just received a milemarker winch control. Turns out it's for a hydraulic winch. cant seem to get it to work.

While I was troubleshooting the control I broke the on-off switch on the solenoid box. So I guess I need to order a new solenoid box.

Where can I buy the correct winch control for a electric winch and a solenoid box? If I can just purchase the switch I'll be happy.

I'm going on a 3 day weekend trail run on the 19-21 and a 5 day trail run starting 3rd of next month. I really need my winch in working order. Bummer.......

Ok I found some info.

Installation and Operator’s Manual, parts break down with part numbers.

Basically all milemarker electric winches use the same solenoid box. Except for the intergraded 12,000 model.

Solenoid box P/N 93-50200
winch remote P/N 93-52055, Cant seem to find a source on this item.

I originally ordered P/N 93-50010 winch is for a hydraulic set-up.

In the morning I'm going to call up Milemarker. Hopefully I can order what I need right from the manufacture.

Remove the box cover and bypass the on/off switch by removing one terminal and bolting it on top of the other terminal. It will be "on" all the time, but will not do anything without the remote connected.

The switch looks like a battery cut-off switch available from Harbor Freight. Item # 92688-0YWA Here's the link. (Clicky) You will have to key in the item number to see it.

Does that remote plug into the socket? If so, it should be usable even if you have to swap some wires around. Ground is the one in the "middle" of the three pins. The other two pins are forward and backward. If you get them wrong it will be obvious, then you just switch them around.

Yes the plug does fit into the socket. I was trying to swap the wires around to figure which one did what when the on/off switch broke.

Called mile marker today. They have 2 style solenoid boxes now. I ordered the old style box and a remote control. Mile marker said the hyd controls will not work with a elect winch. I also ordered the switch I broke. The new style (low profile) solenoid box is a lot better but not rebuildable. It's got a chip inside. IF the solenoid brakes you have to buy a new one box. The old style the solenoid you can find online and order the rest from mile marker.

I asked if it's a common problem with the switch breaking. They said it's uncommon but happen sometimes. Their customer service is topnotch with very knowledgeable personal. They really know their stuff.

Total came out to me 160 something plus shipping. Will ship out today or tomorrow. Hopefully I'll receive them before Friday and get in the shop Saturday.

Friday my parts came in from mile marker. Parts shipped Thursday, 11 and I received the box on the 12th.

I have nothing but good response from mile marker.

I installed the new solenoid box. The hydraulic remote worked when I matched the pins. Only thing is the controls are opposite on the switch. Now I'm starting to believe my old solenoid box is in op. Before I broke the switch I would not get anything to work.

With the new box no matter how I plug in the remote I get a response from the winch. Goos thing is I have a back up remote and solenoid box.

One of the three wires is a common wire that runs to the center of the switch. The other two are power back FROM the switch; one for IN and one for OUT. Swap those two at the plug and the switch will work correctly.
