When the odometer on a 1995 pathfinder stops working, but the speedo works fine, is it the actual speedo head or a speedo gear on the tranny???

It will be the odometer itself. I had that problem with my 85. I just bought a used one turned the numbers so it matched original mileage. I think it died at 240k.
