My friends and I are planing a camping trip in the near future we are planing to go up north (we live in phoenix) i was wondering if the were some good spot that you guys may know of and care to share about by the way are there any special perments that we need before we go.

Milk Ranch Point. Awesome spot right on the edge of the rim north of Strawberry. Amazing views. No permits needed, however, there are strict fire restrictions right now due to extreme dry up there.

When are you going?

Ike's backbone is another one in that area. Kinda rocky though, but had some killer views when we camped up there. I still remember the fog in the canyon the next morning. Spectacular. Bonus is that is far enough off the path that you wont see another soul.

Well we have yet to set a date do to the fact of all our different work hours but we're hoping some time this mouth but you know how work is.
