here is an email that i sent out:

quote:

To whom this may concern,

I am *very* disappointed with your tour guides.. I am insulted by their arrogance and behavior on Broken Arrow trail. This trail is on PUBLIC land and private individuals have EVERY right to be on that trail. We had purchased permits to be there and had every right to be. We did *not* at any time leave the trail, but were accused of such by your guides out of impatience.

A false report was made to the authorities by your tour operators regarding our group's presence on the trail. We had a group of vehicles moving through the trail and we notified an oncoming jeep of the number of vehicles that were coming. After 6 of the 10 vehicles had passed, the tour guide became impatient and went on, where he ran into the rest of our group and then had to back up, as our group had no place to go. Members of our group were verbally *assaulted* by the impatient tour guides at that point. At this point, it appears that a false report was then called into your dispatch. Subsequentally, armed forest rangers were trucked in in a Pink Jeep who then questioned and lectured everyone in our group. I am insulted and am horrified that this behavior is allowed by your operators.

False reports to authorities are criminal offenses. I suspect that false reports to forest rangers could also be construed as an offense. The forest service and other authorities have been and will be notified regarding the actions we saw by your staff. Letters will be written and sent to 4wd organizations, city and government officials, and any other parties we see fit to hear about this ongoing problem.

Because of this unnecessary "intimidation action" by your company, we plan on enjoying Broken Arrow trail much more often with our group. You need to learn to work WITH fellow offroaders rather than demonizing them for your customer's amusement. Making people angry only causes problems.

We have video footage from the trip.. and any instance in which the offending tour guides or tour vehicles can be identified, the information will be handed over to the proper authorites for further investigation.

In the future, I will encourage people to avoid your company and will instead offer free tours on my own time on that trail.

Thank you,
A Concerned Citizen.

The problem is we are booked on weekends now through the end of the year now - between pre-running trails for the AZ Run and family obligations over the holidays.

If I get all my Xmas shopping done when I need to - we may be open to run a trail on 12/14 - but that's the only possibility for us til January.

If you love something set it free.
If it comes back, it will always be yours.
If it doesn't come back, it was never yours to begin with.

But, if it just sits in your living room, messes up your stuff, eats your food, uses your telephone, takes your money and doesn't appear to realize that you had set it free.....
You either married it or gave birth to it !!

those drivers run those trails so often that it's no fun for them...to them it's a job and others on the trail are an annoyance.

WAH. Thank you assholes for attempting to ruin it for everyone else. Next time I won't be nearly so friendly or tolerant of their behavior. On the contrary, I'll be equally confrontational as them, and will hopefully upset their customers as well. Hit them where it hurts.

I just copied this thread here so that people can read about the jeeps without having to be registered as the original thread is in the SWANKy forum.
