Just something I came across today... Thought you all might be interested.
"Rep. Mike Thompson (D-CA) and Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-CA) have reintroduced legislation (H.R. 1501; S. 738) from last year to convert 304,000 acres of northern California federal lands into wilderness. The bills threaten the OHV enthusiast and business communities because motorized vehicles are denied access to lands designated as wilderness, in this case, potentially located in Humboldt, Del Norte, Mendocino, Lake, Napa and Yolo Counties. Fourteen million acres of land in California already have the wilderness designation. Last year's bills died when Congress adjourned in December, along with similar legislation covering potential wilderness areas in southern California."
