Those of you who ride motorcycles, quads or drive 4x4's up through the Crown King area as well as others in the BFC may have interest in the attached meeting notice. The Prescott National Forest is preparing to revise the Forest Management Plan. We have invited several communities in and around the Forest to share with us their vision for the future (details attached) and on the following website. http://www.fs.fed.us/r3/prescott/plan-revision/vision.shtml

Community Meetings for Landscape Vision Sponsored by a variety of citizen groups

The Prescott National Forest (PNF) is revising the management plan for the forest. In gathering information to address potential need for change

Key points …..

*PNF not promising to meet every vision but will work toward:

* Various laws and policies require PNF to make balanced decisions

* Interest of national constituencies, laws and regulations will be a part of the Plan

* Forest Plan approval rests with Forrest Supervisor; cannot legally give away authority

Traditional methods of formal public participation in Forest Plan revision will be used in addition to these informal community meetings. PNF will hold formal public meetings on the Forest Plan anticipated after April 2008.

sounds like there's meetings to discuss the future of OHV use in the area. I guess the landowners on the bottom end are in support of closing it off.
