no clue how i missed the info on this...i'm usually on top of stuff out here. it's true wheeling out here sucks, so much of it is tied up as gov't land

quote:
Hey folks,

I am asking that those of you who care about land access in the united states help out and contribute to a effort that concerns some of my local trails.

I have given to the BRC (blue ribbon coaltion), donated money towards Rubicon funds, and so forth. I have written letters concerning your access issues. Now us east coasters need your help.

quote:

In peril, as you may have read through the many forums is the potential loss of public access to a certain well-traveled roadway in Florida and Adams Mass. Confrontations between 4-wheelers and the Massachusetts DEM are necessitating action on behalf of the 4-wheeling community.
The Association, leveraging the diverse backgrounds of its membership and peers in the four-wheel-drive community, has spearheaded a volunteer-led effort to uncover and resolve legal right-of-way issues, as well as potential environmental issues related to the continued operation of motorized vehicles along this public, town-owned roadway.

Your help is needed! A fund for the explicit purpose of supporting these efforts on this roadway has been established by the Association. Donations to this fund will be used exclusively to pay for legal efforts, surveys, research and should the time come, any signs and/or improvements to this valuable recreational resource. Your assistance in this matter is crucial to the continuation of open, public access and as well, to establish and secure credibility and public awareness of the 4-wheeling community.

Prime trails are closing in New England and many of the small towns connected to them benefit from our use. It is important and no less, imperative that a consideration of donation is forwarded on to help ensure that stewardship of our sporting grounds be maintained.

Please write Checks or Money Orders to
the NorthEast Association of 4WD Clubs and send to:

NEA4WDC
C/O Save Florida RD Fund
8 Derry Way, Apt. 7
Derry, NH 03038

They are trying to close the LAST real 4x4 trail in MA. Even five dollars is alot. I gave 50 and will be giving more.

I know you may never see this trail, but each one that gets closed hurts us all. A small donation is so little compared to what you make in a year, 10 dollars is a pizza in the grand scheme of things, but it means SO SO MUCH to us out east that we get this money.

I dont have any money to give but maybe us florida guys could go find the people closing the trails here and punch them in the nose! That is if it's a unjustified closing. Personally i'd rather have them kinda close off some of the trails down here and only let you on if you register. that might cut down on the idiots who dump garbage down here. actually there is a few places already down here you have to sign in and there's no trash there, And it's still free to get in.

Thats a good idea TJ, you hafta have like a membership to get in. At Hollopaw in Fl. In order to get in the area you have to have the decal and a key to get in. But dumb idiots still get in cuz of the dumb idiots who let them in. I dont let anyone in unless they have that sticker or the key... Cuz they come with all there 4wheelers and go 80mph around your camp or etc. And gets annoying, especially the vandalizm we have out there.

i like 4wheelers but damnit they need to be more careful. i have had more than one come blasting around a blind corner and almost hit me. i have had a bunch more that would have plowed right into me if i hadnt heard them coming and gotten out of the road. Of course it would probably be my fault if they ran into me.

You wanna know what pisses me off? Tires. Everybody has been offroad at some point and seen some big ass tires that some cheap ass dumped to save some money on tire dispossal fees. I was also pissed when the tire shop I go to around here asked me to take the tires with me. So what the hell am I supposed to do with 4 bald AT's? I took 2 with me as spares, and paid 5 bucks for him to get rid of the other 2. Now what does this action from the tire shops lead to? Cheap asses taking their worn out mud tires and dumping them out in the woods.

This also applies to cans, bottles, batteries, wheels, couches, washing machines, jet skis, tires, and desks, all of which I have seen on one local trail. I anticipate not being able to get in soon because of how this place looks. I like going there, but it is gonna be ruined by people who are too lazy and too irresponsible to dispose of their trash. I would love to put it all in my truck and dump in these people's lawns, because it pisses me off that much.

Don't think it really matters that I am complaining here; anyone looking at this thread probably is responsible enough to get rid of their trash.

on some trails by my house some dumbasses were actually stupid enough to throw away some of there junk mail in the bags of garbage they dumped. one of the local 4wheelers got it and reported them, i think they were made to come do trash pickup Strange Thing is though it's not like anyone around here doesent have normal twice a week trash pickup. if your going to litter dump it in a parking lot or something, at least that way it will get cleaned up. I myself go to the dumpster at my friends work to throw away big stuff i cant put down by the road. If they screw you like that again with tires then just take them with you, then go back later and throw the tires in the used tire pit of they have one, if not then just take them to a tire place that does have one, or throw them in the dumpster. They charge you to take your old tires, then a used tire guy comes and picks them up and pays the tire store for em. the tire store makes money both ways.

That was what really pissed me off--they sell used tires! There was enough tread for it to be worth having for when some poor ass needs to fix a blow out. I should call and ask if they have any BFG AT's used, and see if they try to sell it back to me.

It really is pathetic though. There is one big pile there, with like 3 couches, about 5 tires, a few car batteries, and other misc. garbage. I guess they will chain off the entrance soon anyway, and there will be no more wheeling for Mark there. Mad
