Have you guys ever considerd using an elctric water pump. I mean if going to elctric fans freed up a little HP mayhaps removing a belt driven water pump will let you gain even more!

Anyway, I've been in touch with a company called CSR to help them get some made up for your VG30 engines!

I'll keep posting with progress.
For your other vehicles the might already have something; CSR Water Pumps

Somone in another blog brought this up so I thought I would answer it here too.

2-4 is very acurate number and for some people when it comes down to it every last HP counts. CSR Electric Water Pumps have been guarnteed for 50,000.
Also for many vehicles(and I do belive the vg30 engine will be no exeption)the electric pump motor being used can be replaced without removing any other parts (no more removing belt covers and belts etc.) replacement will litterally be a 5 min job so if your worried about one crapping out on you (and I doubt it will) bring a spare.

Hey bro,

Personally I find it to be an Extreme end Luxury for somone who's desperately trying to squeeze every last pound of torque and HP out of their Natrually Aspirated VG engine.

I personally woudln't every use one (for richer or poorer) unless I was running in Sancationed racing where it's legal and the difference between 1st place and 5th is driver & 2 more HP.

If you want a substantial power gain, Check out the Russ Cam gears @ www.vg30et.com. They're very expensive but they're the best Cam gears made for the SOHC VG's and they're the only gears on the market that can be adjusted WITHOUT removing the timing belt(which pays for itself IME). Properly Degreeing stock or aftermarket Cams combined with Timing Advance or retard could net a very significant gain relatve to the pathetic stock 153hp.

I'll be running the Russ Cam gears when I do a Timing belt and all the Seals/Gaskets in two months. I'll be sure to report on gains with the cam gears.

I could do a five Paragraph write up on performance mods for the N/A VG that would be nice before one dwells in Electric Water pumps. Just 86'ing the stock Engine Fan for a Nice electric one combined with Serious Ecu Tuning in itself makes it feel like a different(a much nicer) vehicle.

All things considered, and the fact that I can no-longer get a hold of the csr rep that was running this project, I have decided to abandon the electric water pump idea. Thanks all for your input. Next time I get a hairbrained idea I'll be sure to post it b4 I waste time/money.

I didn't see those on there, where can I buy these Russ Cam gears?
