I am going to pull the body of my pathy off the frame, using either a dozer with a bucket, or a tractor, with a bucket. I was wondering where the best points are to lift the body off the frame? I was thinking of hooking the straps to the body mounts, but do not want to cause a bunch of damage to the body panels, from the weight of the body causing the straps to cut into the panels. Any ideas, or pics from anyone else who pulled the body off? Sadly, I do not have a hydro hoist, or else I would just use that.

Maybe you can fit some long 2x4's under the body and attach the straps to the boards.

I was thinking of that, but didn't think a single 2x4 could hold the weight. I could stack 3, and try that.
Thanks. Any idea what the weight of the cab is, stripped- I could take the 2 doors off, but didn't want any twisting to occur. |

anybody have a rough estimate of how much the entire body weighs, including doors? I was thinking about 6-700 lbs. I am thinking I will make a set of "extra long saw horses" (I don't have tall enough jack stands) for the body, and using the boards or pipes under the body, keep it jacked above the frame. that way, I can pull the old rolling chassis out, and push the new one in.
