If all it needs is an alternator, take it. But I would take a fresh battery over first, top off with fresh fluids and see if and how it runs. Check for rust in the frame, especially around the rear axle area. If you can't get it to run, you have to ask yourself am I willing to spend the money on a engine rebuild.

I figure there will be rust. Hopefully not TOO much

It has been sitting for 2 years so I would assume plenty of rust but hopefully not enough to make it a MAJOR frame restore. A few touch up spots here and there I dont mind but an entire frame restore AND an engine swap i would have to pass on it.

Check the oil and coolant levels first of all. I found that when the timing belt goes, so does the cylinder walls, thus, a nice mixture of oil and water and an EXPENSIVE replacement cost. Best of luck.
