I was wondering what size tire the carrier is capable of holding without doing any damage to the body under stressful conditions?

i have a 38" swamper sx and a hi lift on the back, ive been using the same bushings that came with the truck, just a little wd-40. i also unbolted the actual tire holder part, moved that to the pass side and pie cut it so the tire was angled up. ill snap a picture today

these good? had a 33" swamper on there before when i was ifs. id say its held up fine, only damage is from over tightening the bolts going into the body, but id rather have it tight than fallin off with all that weight

yeah that works thanks. I'm planning on doing some body mods to the truck and taking the ass end of a pathy and putting on the bed, its about 8-10" shorter and have it look something like this

and have a spare tire carrier on it. yes it would be painted red.

I've got a 33" BFG MT and 2 5 GAL NATO Jerry cans on my stock Pathy tire carrier. I just just bored one day and bolted on a piece of 2x5 box steel scrap and pushed the tire carrier out. Then used some misc. hardware to attach some cheap jerry can holders. It's always been the plan to redo it and lower the cans and raise the tire and cant it forward. But its been like this for 3 or 4 years. I usually carry 5 of gas and 5 of water. When both are full you have to kinda lift up the carrier to close it, but when it's closed, all the weight is supported on it's two feet.

thanks Thanatoz, from your pics it didnt look original. the 2 jerry cans is a good idea. I'm planning on putting the pathy fuel tank on as well to double the fuel.
