I was told to do the seafoam in the old and new oil. I've got almost 2000 miles since and no leaks. when I bought it, one lifter was so bad it was running on only 5 cylinders. now its still got a light tap but its running like a champ. after pulling a valve cover there is NO sludge or other junk anywhere I can see

Here's an update........

I have the Common Valve tap again @ starup that's gone after a couple seconds. It's nothing like before.

I'm changing my Auto-Rx oil tomorrow for the *Rinsing* stage. I'm hoping that the Auto-rx helped bring new life to my rear Crank seal. The last timing service I remember that I did the Cams seals and the front crank seal but not the rear.

TO date, no oil burning or leaks on my VG engine with 120K+. The Seafoam was definitely worth every penny and I woudln't be suprised if my emissions(gotta go test next week) where lower from the slow engine cleaning.

Cool. Big Grin

I've had that startup tap for 9 years and 100k miles, no matter what oil I've tried. It's only after it sits for a few hours.

No new leaks after seafoam for me either...just the same old ones. lol

There's some stuff I'm going to try on my next oil change which will be soon. I'll post the results...

Hey bro,

Have you figured out where your leaks are coming from? It's probably a crank seal/s.

I have a VR6 Mark III Jetta(yeah I hate the body style & would prefer rear wheel drive but it drives nice and it's safer then a Honduh). Anyway, It doesn't leak one drop of Oil but it's burns through a quart of Dino Oil in less then 3K nowdays. I'm gonna try the Auto-Rx on this vehicle and prey that it helps with this.

I was next to a Older Pathfidner the other day @ a Light and his Valve tap was f'in HORRIBLE! It was even worse then mine was before the SeaFoam. I tried to talk to him but he drove off to soon.

I noticed that Wal-mart raised the price on the Sea-foam again(maybe deflated dollar too). When I did the Seafoam it was Six something @ wal-mart, now it's Nine something. I wish I'd bought a couple cases Case as I could sell it in Parking lots to guys with Loud VG's....lol.

That Loud Valve tap was driving me f'in nuts.

Peace

Yeah, rear main. There's some evidence of a leak at the front too, but it might have been from the PS pump or the tranny cooler lines...not sure.

I'm not fixing it until the tranny dies completely.

92Path -

Hey bro, I'm gonna do the Synthetic tranny flush next week. I'm looking forward to c'ing how much sh*t comes out when we change the Filter/gasket and then the Fluid Exchange.

I'm getting ready to Order another 3 Twelve ounces bottles of Auto-Rx(about $20.00 a bottle free shipping when you order three). I'm VERY confident that this product is the real deal. One bottle would treat you engine and your tranny. I'd be happy to send you a bottle @ my cost and not make a penny off ya.

They have a Specific application for treating Leaky/hardened old seals on their website. I have no Affiliation with them and I'm confident that my intuitions are 100% correct.

It might take care of your seals and more importantly give more life to your auto tranny.

Auto Trannies for our WD21's are cheap and Easy to come buy but even they the tranny could be damaged or worn out from neglect(unless one is crazy enough to buy new) and it's plenty of f'in labor.

no no no I need to to die so that I can replace it with a 5 speed. lol

The way my exhaust is routed right now, there's no way to remove the pan without cutting the exhaust off. It doesn't just unbolt. lol The tranny will not downshift on it's own 75% of the time and will not lock or unlock the TC under load. It's been that way since I was in high school...7 years ago. I know how to fix it, but why fix all this crap when it's going to get completely reworked anyways? Wink

You won't need any technical help really. Just find the tranny and pedals...or cut the brake pedal. Buy the correct flywheel, master and slave, line, clutch, throwout bearing, etc...

The interior parts might be a pain to find in the right color and in good shape.

And unlike the 240s, the hole for the master is already in the firewall...no cutting!

And yes, I'm gonna do it...as soon as the auto fails. Big Grin

what kind of mileage does everyone have who is running Seafoam? Mine has about 150k on it and I'm just worried whether or not I should run it through the crankcase...

Won't hurt a thing. Be prepared to drain some nasty oil when you're done though.

It's likely to dislodge that stuff, but I don't know about clogging anything up. If anything, it'd get thinned out.
