Ok, Got a little reckless this weekend;
I was too heavy on the gas while downshifting for a turn on a gravel road and I went sidways into a post. It hit my tire and fender right behind the marker light. Yeh its got a nice round dent and the alignemnts a little (more) off but thats beside the point. The impact sheared of the stud that holds my front swaybar to the A arm. I haven't seen any front quick disconnects out there for nissans and I think if there were how would you keep the bar out of the way. Do you guys usually take the front ones off pemantly? or beef up the studs? or just remove for offroad then re-install for highway? I was thinking about moving the sway bar clamps closer together to allow more flex and just beef up the ends with larger studs. =================================== mostly stock(for now) '89 Pathfinder XE over 210k and running strong! i dont know of any disconnects. i just took mine off a long time ago. you definately have to keep it in mind when you drive though. as im sure you are now aware of. it flexes better but leans a little more on the road. just slow down and be cautious and you'll be okay.
also you might want to take it to an alignment shop and make sure you didnt tweak the frame or at least get a new alignment. yeh I'll have to go back and find that little rubber that fell off the bottom side of the a arm too.
I saw a/c sells a replacement kit, I might just go with that and also move the mounts closer or try to invent some quick releasing mounts. thanks anyway guys =================================== mostly stock(for now) '89 Pathfinder XE over 210k and running strong! I'm pretty sure (like 99%) that Energy Suspension makes replacement front end links with bushings. If you want me to check it out shoot me an e-mail / PM

Hey,
I don't know what the *hardcore* IFS wheelers do but when I'm wheeling my IFS WD21, I sure as hell wish I didn't have the front sway bar. I don't think the Inherint Desgin of the Front Sway Bar would allow for *quick disconnects*. As for Poly & Other Bushings, Nismo, Energy and others makes bushings. None of em are cheap but they're all worth it IME. The Labor is allot more then the parts...lol |

then take it off silly!
I'm thinkin it will be a wing-nut set-up on the front clamps to remove them and then just let it dance arround with its ends still attached. or better yet: wingnuts and disconnects for the ends so I can remove it quick. I'll have to make some more uninstalled obeservations before I decide how much I really need it. =================================== mostly stock(for now) '89 Pathfinder XE over 210k and running strong!
