1998 HZJ75 Toyota Landcruiser 4.2 litre diesel engine 4x4 5 speed manual transmission 35600 miles
has ARB air lockers front and rear, ARB bull bar, snorkle also it has a 5" lift kit and 33x12.50 MTR tires on it...

Sweet ride too bad it is at $20,000 first bid.
Very rare vehicle for the US it is registered and located in Princeton, Wisconsin and is a L/H drive.
All I can think is they had it imported from south america or something.

Ya I have no clue they must have payed big $ for it. I almost felt like calling the guy to see how the hell that thing is legal in the US. It is a large diesel engine though which is sweet.

I sent it to my buddie, this might be the one for him. He sure wishes his current LandLoser was diesel. Any thoughts on how this is a legal truck in the US? Did someone just have to pay 15K just to get to the US? Would we in Northern AZ have a problem registering it? There is no emmissions tests here.

be careful....often trucks like this are not legal in the USA. It is no problem at all to bring it in for 364 days. For example you are driving around the world in it. Yet, that thing had to meet EPA and DOT standards and be OKed by them to be legal. So I would be asking for docs on the EPA & DOT inspections and so forth. I just can't see that top passing them though. The owner could have paid to have it upgraded to meet USA standards and legally be imported but it costs a ton of money.

It is a cool truck and it is nice to see one on our soil but the lack of bids is also making me think it is fishy. Many guys who are into TLC's ahve cash to spend and would kill for that truck. Somebody ask the guy what his reserve is... Wink

I would defiantely want proof it is legal for USA use if buying it, not to mention he may want $50k for it!

If that can be imported than this should aslo be able to be imported. And I would take this any day over a TLC...coil sprung Ute TD intercooler P-troll...oh yea baby! smiley4

yea sucks.... Mad

I take it back...the red Ute has no intercooler or it would have a hood scoop.

The white TLC with the well driller or post hammer or whatever it is could have been imported as machinery due to how it is set up and used. That is legal....

Ok I talked to the guy here is the skinny on it.

It was bought from a guy who imported a bunch of them into Montana as mining vehicles long story short the guy ended up selling a few of them the rest he was forced to take out of the states so assured me it is legal and registered with a title in the US. It came with 4.11 gearing stock and some weird skinny something*x7 tires on it that were equiv to a 33" tire in height. The lift springs were custom made alcans and he said he has taken it offroad only a few times he is selling it since it is too small for his family needs the reserve is set at $22,000..
If anyone cared.

I care! I can believe mining was the loop hole for import on it. yet, how it went from mining to street legal when the rest were shipped out is not very clear. Not that it matters much unless you going to buy.

Unless it got hammered hard in mining use I would say $22k is a solid price for in the USA. It does look clean from the pictures. It would be a fun truck and I am sure it will sell sooner or later.

You might try "Ens Industrial" in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, CANADA. They
import and have a parts store for HZJ75's in Canada. I have not had any
contact with them, so I do not know if they would be receptive to private
sales.

Hell id sell my left nut to get it but I don't think anyone would want it. Anyways it would be kind of hard for me to get a loan for something like that. If I did I would have a custom canvas back top made for it so I could use it to haul stuff for work. I'll bet it gets at least 30 mpg since it is a diesel.
