well my gf wants to get a 4x4 and there is a 2000 jeep cherokee classic with 120k that we are looking at trading stright up for her mazda 6 , is there anything i need to be aware of , before we make the trade ??
obviously got make sure 4wd works and got to drive it but what are the weak points that i need to look at to make sure there is nothing major wrong with it , thanks guys |

As w/ any 4wd, I'd scope the underside for signs of abuse; scrapes, gouges, bent metal bits. Also any signs of leakage; RMS, hubs, etc.
Why not stay Nissan? I'd go Gen1 X w/ a SAS before considering a GM product.. If it has tits or tires, you're gonna' have problems... I got your jeep thing, now it burns when I pee... |

it was gonna be a straight swap , the guy backed out though a couple minutes ago , if i can find a sased 1st gen that would work

There's one downside to Cherokee's, they don't have a frame. If your going to do any type of building with a cherokee I would make a sub-frame first.
They also got the dana 30's which are find in a non lifted/modified stock truck. I would take a wrangler before a cherokee if the vehicle is going off road much. 1995 KC XE-V6 4x4. |
