I found I have lots of interest in my 4 runner but no buyers with money. I got one offer for $2000 cash I told him I wanted $2500 at a minimum for it though he said he would have to think on it.
I got a pm from a dude who wants my TJM bumper this week. So I figure he trades me his old one one plus $200 it's his. I have a 85 front axle lined up for $100 I just have to go pick it up and then get the front springs and hangers. So I am well on my way to have a solid front. Oh and I found a old post on pirate using a 300 zx clutch cylinder line as a extended brake line so I will be getting 2 of those at $22ea.
The F350 shock towers are about $50. The only expensive parts will be hysteer and gears and a front locker. I could just go with a square tube DS until I can afford a nice modifyed slip joint one.

Now you're talking. You got that nice new motor, so the truck is gonna run a long time.

Plus, crawler gears are cheap for your yota.

Mine is starting to look alot better than other vehicles I have seen. I saw a 94 toyota pickup for sale for $1000 in the paper it said needs a windshield and a clutch I think no biggie I go look at it today it is in horrible shape I could litterly put my finger through the frame the rust was so bad.

Well the good news someone looked at my TJM bumper today he said he would have the money tuesday for it and he would give me a bumper to replace mine so I have something on there.

Here's a update for ya. I am getting this little suzuki sidekick I am picking for $400 on tuesday it has 4 good tires need some exhaust work but it runs and drives.
So now I can offically park my 4 runner and start chopping IFS and the top on it at my buddy Damein's house. Oh and I might be getting a set of used 2.5" YJ front lift springs for free and they will fit the Sky MFG spring hangers the same as the Waggy's. So things are looking good for the SFA project I just need to come up with the $$ for hysteer and the spring hangers the shock towers and brake lines are the cheap part.

Update the suzuki didn't work out someone beat me to it.
I test drove a cherokee today it feels really weird compared to my 4 runner.
It just feels nicer in my runner for some reason everything is ergonomical and feels right the cherokee everything felt out of place and very odd.
It sucks if I could sell my runner for $2500 I could have a solid axle jeep that was lifted and locked for less than it cost to SAS my rig. Ideas of SASing your rig becomes very discouraging at this point and you get more bummed on how much you have already spent beating your head against the wall with IFS...
The other thing that sucks 2 people owe me money one guy owes me $600 for the van I sold him back in november he made one payemnt of $50 that's it and the other owes me $500 yet no one has paid me $hit like that kind of makes you loose your trust in people and puts a damper in my plans for anything like mods for improvement. Mad

On another note I did find a whole 1985 pickup it's frame is broken in 1/2 the owner hasn't been home but I'll be stopping by to make him a offer on the whole vehicle for my SAS parts.
Let me tell ya I am soooo sick of IFS my 6th idler arm is sick of it too.

I went over to the place that had the broken solid axle toyota in front of his house. The guy had a bunch of no tresspassing signs up and had so many damn mean dogs there one let me walk up to the door to knock no one was home though. I had to leave a note in the guys mailbox I have yet to get a call from him though.

Well as luck has it another party is intested in trading vehicles for my 4 runner. He has a 85 22RE 5 speed 4x4 ext cab toyota it's pretty stock but you know what that means it's a factory soild axle vehicle...
2 pics

There's not alot of rust on it at all he is in Illinois. I guess he wants a newer 4 runner even though it has a IFS. I told him I would trade him for his he wants to give me $400 on top of the trade. I told him $500.
Sounds fair to me that's what I want is a solid axle rig anyways so less work for me. I had suggested to meet up 1/2 way and exhange vehicles and titles. So I would have a 500 mile trip ahead of me to pick it up.

I won't believe it until I have it though.
I just hope I don't get screwed on this deal like the other one that fell through.

Is the frame on that white one repairable?

He said there are spots of rust on it nothing bad though. So I would likely meet him 1/2 way that way if it's too rusty for my taste I could turn around and head home.
The first thing that I would likely do hysteer and change out the drag steer system with a IFS box they are a dime a dozen at the yards.
I would likely use rear 86-95 IFS toyota leaf packs on the front with sky boomerang shackles then chevy 1/2 tons in the rear with bud built leaf hangers. Then regear and lock for 34x10.50 LTB's. I wish i had about $1200 right now so I could get all this stuff.
It almost looks like it's the same amount of work to just SAS your rig to make a 85 solid axxle trail worthy so I think I might as well keep mine I guess.

Oh and the guy who had the wrecked 85 called me he wants $100 for the whole truck.

I'd drop the $100 on that '85 in a heartbeat.

The one in the pic runs and drives he now wants to give me $800 and trade vehicles the frame has very little rust he did send me pics on it.
The only concern I have is the engine on it he says it has a oil consumption problem meaning per 100 miles it uses 1 qt of oil.....
According to him it's not leaking out of the engine he thinks it is burning oil which = bad rings or bad valve stem seals.
Either way it needs either a head kit or a full rebuild.
I do have a friend who has a running 1992 22RE engine with low mileage for around $800 it also has a ECU with it. So I may either get his engine or something else.
