Anyone have lockers or gears for stock axles on this truck?

I'm not exactly sure which year they switched to the corporate 10 bolt. If it has the dana 44 under it, gears and lockers can be hard for the cheap.

On another note. The 10 bolts are good axles but I would swap some dana 44's underneath the K5 if I had the choice.

The 10 bolt switch was around 77-78

I've got a Trussed 12 bolt with Chromoly axles, Detroit locker, disk brakes, heavy duty cover, and 4.56 gears along with a cut and turned Dana 44 with high steer, ARB locker, Chromoly axles, Rock Crusher cover and 4.56 gears that could be had if the price is right.
The Dana 44 needs to be switched into a new housing though (which I have). It's leaking around one of the axle tubes.

This is before I put the cover on the rear axle:

Front axle was cut and turned 8 degree's.

You can see a bunch more pictures from me building up the axles on the Beast's web page.

This is for the Dana 44 and 12 Bolt, not the Dana 60 and 14 bolt. The rear spring perches will have to be moved to work on the newer truck, but the front should be fine. I even have a 2wd steering box for the crossover conversion.

my buddy that Im looking for is up in the pink dunes for the weekend. So, will have to let you know next week. He's looking to get gears that will allow him to travel at 70 mph, so as to not have to trailer it to the trails. I think his stocks are 3.63s?

Being able to do 70, and doing 70 nicely are too different things. I've done 75 in a truck with 4.10s and 31's, no OD, and a 350. It wasn't pleasant, but it did it.

That all depends on his transmission. With my 700r4, 35's and the 4.56:1 gears 70 = 2100RPM. If he's running a TH350 and small tires then it could be a problem.

i think he'll be running 35-37s and hasn't done a trans swap.

He's going to want 4.10's or better. 4.56 would be a good choice with a 350 engine.
