It was a good run. I loved that car, but it's time for something different, and I've been looking for a while.

So I found me a 1970 Chevy CST10. I've got well past $12k in receipts on this truck from the previous owner, including $6k in a VERY strong 400 small block with ceramic coated hooker headers and a big effing Holley marine carb.

She's also got:

All new front suspension components
Rebuilt TH350
Rebuilt 12 bolt rear / all new brakes
Rebuilt and shortened driveline
New radiator
New Heavy duty starter
New battery
Custom Exhaust with tips exiting in front of the rear wheels
All brand new R134A compliant AC ($1800 invested in that alone)
All new duct work, cables, sliders, etc.
New BFG TAs on new chrome moonies
5" drop in front with spindles and springs, and a disc brake conversion
6" drop in rear with blocks, springs, and a sectioned frame

The interior is original and near immaculate with no cracks/tears, etc. It all works, even the AM radio! The CST model gave it wood grain on the trim, tailgate, and interior panels, and a nice headliner.

There's 66k miles on the truck. Box A miles. It hasn't flipped over. There's under 10k on the drivetrain.

It was an even trade for the Camaro Smile

I'm currently seeking an original black and yellow Arizona 69 plate for it.

I didn't wash it before the pics, so it's not as clean as it could be, but here goes.

I dreamt I was a muffler last night. When I woke up, I was exhausted.

Those floormats are cute. You pick those out?

Seriously, nice truck. I helped my buddy resto-mod his '72. That was a fun project. We moved the gas tank, and shaved the filler tube. Put a racing cell under the bed, with the filler in the bed floor. Looks hella seksi that way Wink

I bet it's fun to drive.

That brings back memories from my childhood. Smile
Nice truck. Nice components and craftsmanship. That MC could stand to be cleaned and painted. Other than that, it is ready for the next car show.

It's a fine line between clever and stupid.

Nice. Very very nice..
Depending on your right foot and gearing, that just might get pretty good mileage.

I don't see why - there's an element of truth there.

A recent "diesel power"( or was it "8-lug") magazine had dodge truck tuned for roughly 700 hp yet on commutes to the shop @ 55mph he could get over 50 mpg.

It was lowered as well.

Granted there's a big difference in engines, but the common factor here is being lowered which is one of the main factors in good mileage.

12mpg on a good day. She's thirsty, but she runs like a top and skated through emissions.

Needs an overdrive. Maybe one day a 700R4 will find its way in the truck.

I had forgotten the sound of gas sloshing around in a tank in the back of the cab. Those were the days.
