Welp, I did the deed and dropped some $$ on some gauges. Wise choice, I think. These are for my Ford F250 Powerstroke Diesel. Its got a +70hp/+150ftlb superchip in it, intake, and other goodies. With the chip, I'm sure my EGTs are running a little on the hot side. I wanted to see exactly what its doing, so ordered the new toys.

I ordered the Autometer Phantoms:

0-35psi boost gauge

0-1600F Exhaust Pyrometer Kit

and a 100-250F tranny temp gauge:

I also got a 3 gauge pillar pod for them to go in:

I figure it'll be good insurance to help keep the truck on the road.

Looks good! Wish I could cash out anything to put the Atlas and lockers in the sheep. Boy has the bug ever bit me hard. What kind of truck are you hauling?

We're hauling a Mazda/Ford Ranger pickup plus 6 12' collapsed antenna masts (about 300lb) and all the hardware and equipment for a months worth of remote site radio surveys in the bed of my truck. (probably 800-1000lb) I'll have 2 other guys riding with me to help with the survey, so the crew cab will be really nice to carry everyone plus all the gear.

I'll probably be building a headache rack this week and next to hold the antenna masts for the site visits as well as some dual trucker CB antenna whips, bed lights, and some brake lights.

Yah, I know all about the offroading bug. When it bites, it bites hard. Smile $20k and counting in the pathy now. I knew you and mom would really enjoy getting out and wheeling. Its a fun and relatively safe sport that the whole family can enjoy. Plus, AZ is about the best state for wheeling, as there are thousands of miles of trails out there with some incredibly cool stuff to see. Smile

Finished up the installation of the gauges last night.. they work GREAT and look awesome. I even painted the pillar pod to match the interior. It looks like the truck came that way. Smile The wiring was a real PITA, but with the help of some online references, I found all the correct wires to tap into to power everything.

So far, my temps all look normal. Tranny temp barely hit 140F coming to work this morning. The pyrometer swings from 400F-1000F depending on load, and only requires about a 2 minute idle to drop it to 300F to cool the turbo off when parking. The boost peaks at 20psi with my chip, which is reasonable.. and about 4psi over stock.

I'll get some pics tonight if I can.
