Got the Skid Row gas tank armor on the sheep last night. I'd post pics but Mrs Okie has the digital camera down in Tucson photographing hummingbirds. It's a beefy 3/16 in steel cover that bolted right over the stock shield. I'd already put one good dent in the stock cover so I really needed this upgrade. I may start on the lift if I feel up to it. Datz, you still coming up this weekend to help me with it?

Are you going to be here Friday night or Saturday afternoon? Could you bring up your hi lift floorjack. Two floorjacks might make things a bit easier. Also need the tap and die set (English). I was out yesterday and drove Oak Creek Homestead south of Sedona. It's a pretty neat trail that crawls along a shelf road then drops down to the bank of Oak Creek. Unless you have a horse or a capable 4X4 you won't get in there. Also reran Soldiers Pass just to find the 7 pools. Got behind a redrock jeep tour and followed him right to em. I still want to drive the cutoff to Devil's Kitchen. I don't think it's any worse than the cutoff to Submarine Rock and the sheep handled it just fine.

Let me know when you're gonna be here. Smile

I'll be up there Sat between noon and 1pm or so. I have some more welding I need to get done on the Pathy tonight (finishing up the plating on the underside and backside of the frame up front), so I'll be up late doing that.

I'll bring the big jack, big jackstands, and tap and die sets. I'll also bring the spring compressor too just in case. Do I need to bring the little welder for anything? Are there any brackets that need to be welded on, or is the kit all bolt-on?

BTW, I put some Power Service Diesel Kleen (grey bottle from walmart) in my Ford yesterday.. man what a difference!!! The thing actually runs really smooth now. It used to idle rough and shake the truck a little at stoplights, but now it just purrs with no shakes or misfires at idle.

It's all bolt on, but you can throw it in the back anyway. Ya never know. Thanks for remembering the spring compressor. We'll need it. Bring heavy work gloves. I got the top mounting pins pressed into the shocks night before last so they're ready to go. I don't really think it's going to take all that much time once we get it up and going.

So you tomorrow!
