OK, more updates, and pics too. I rebuilt the carb last night (had to build a new workbench to have somewhere to do it, see last pic in this post). Hopefully it runs better when I get it all back together. It looks like the previous owner attempted a rebuild, and had absolutely no understanding of carb jetting. So I got that done, got up this morning (my day off!) and decided to prime the fenders and hood. Looks a lot better. Then I decided since I used black primer on the hood, I should paint it a lighter color, so out came a can of bright yellow. The whole truck will end up being a very similar shade of yellow sooner or later. And now, for the pics!

Front right (no the hood isn't attached, its just sitting there protecting the engine from the sun)

And the left side..

Head on

Whats inside the truck right now. a whole lot of crap, but nothing from the interior at all.

Tranny and tcase on the garage floor. I spent an hour cleaning up the tcase the other day, and it's still filthy. Tranny has yet to be cleaned up. I think I'll break out the wire brush on these two later in the week.

The new dripspeed work bench. Some old countertop sitting in a corner, plus a rickety table and the edge of my toolbox. Worked great, and was so level the chevk ball from the vacuum secondary diaphragm didn't roll off.

Oh, you're doing that, eh? Hope you like heat and eating dust. The last topless K5 that ran with us had two choking passengers by the time we hit the end of the trail.

it won't be completely topless, just no cap. I'll be buying or making a soft back for the cab, so I can snap it up if it really becomes an issue

its a 1977 Jimmy. I do have a concern about that. I'm going to swap in a qjet which is about the best carb for offroading there is available, and will plan on an EFI swap of some type (most likely TBI) in the future.
