I woulda bought a 6.2 truck to begin with if I wanted one. I'll take the hit in gas mileage and torque and stick with drivetrain I'm familiar with.

I dunno... 180hp??? My 4.3 makes close to that, and it's no where near enough! I'd LOVE to have the engine that Skinny has in his Twisted Customs buggy... ZZ4 with Fastburn heads... Smile Dyno'd at 517hp AT THE WHEELS! THAT is the way to fly. Smile

If you want serious, inexpensive, all day long torque from a gas motor, build a '70-72 455 Pontiac: 450-500 lb-ft of torque at 1800 rpm!

70's Caddy Eldos would work too. The 500in. motors put out 500 lb-ft of torque.

Both the briggs and stratton and the olds motor have about the same chances of passing smog.

Yeah...why not, those single cylinder briggs sound funny when you wrap them out at almost twice their redline...don't last too long though.
