Hey guys I have a 2005 GMC K1500 that is doing the following..

Problem -

1st time - While waiting at a light I pushed the accelerator and the RPM’s went up but it went no where. It was like the truck was in Neutral, I put the truck into park, then back into drive, and still no go. Put it back into Park, shut off the truck, started it back up and she was fine.

2nd Time – At a light again, RPM’s when up, no go for just a second, truck went into gear, and the it pealed the tires

3rd Time - Waiting to turn, pushed the accelerator, minor RPM’s and then it went

What I’ve done so far –

Checked the Tranny fluid - Its A-OK

Took it to a recommended Transmission shop, they couldn’t find any issues, thought it could be a “Stator?” Told me to check for recalls.

Checked with the dealership to see if there were any recalls, none

Why not to knock me for buying a GMC and not a Nissan –

1 – The Titan seats were very uncomfortable for my tender bottom!
2 – At the time they kept delaying the release of the new Frontier, else I would have bought one

Any ideas what this could be?

Is there any sort of transmission diagnostic you can run?

Fill Drain might be a good Idea... EvenI think a power Flush might help clean out some debris... I wonder if it has a filter of some type?

I'll stop by checker to see if they rent an ODBII diag computer to see if it can look into this..

Of course the last couple of days it's been working perfectly... Roll Eyes

I have a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado by what I know there is a metal screen filter in the transmission. I have had shops tell me that you can just flush and not change the filter. I think my manual says that the filter needs to be changed at 100k but I am not sure. I am thinking the tranny fluid is supposed to be changed at 50k. I have not reached 40k yet so I have not dug into researching changing the transmission fluid but thought I would have the filter changed at the same time. I do not understand why you would do one without the other

I had them pull the tranny pan and check the filter. It was very clean.

I asked them to do a power flush on the transmission.

When I drove it home I noticed an improvement in power. Right now I am in Grants New Mexico and it's doing great..

I'll keep you all posted...

Thanks!
