Sheep started running a little warm earlier this week. I checked the coolant early next AM and it was nearly 1 gallon low! I didn't see any leaks so I think I must have burned a hole in a head gasket when I overheated it last March on Desoto Mine trail. Took it in to the mechanic cause if I've blown a headgasket, I want to replace the exhaust manifold too. There's also a change I might have a crakced head. I decided if that's the case I'll just have a 4.7 stroker put in. Turns out it was a very slight leak in the water pump shaft, so it got replaced. I had the mechanic fix a few other little things too. Sheeps all nice and cool again. Now I need to see about putting on rear disc brakes.

nice another person other than me thinks something they did in the past caused a big problem, just to find out it is a simple fix. oh and Ba-aa-aa-ah

I've been working on my Ford for the past 3 weeks. Dont know if I told you but it ate its fuel pump, so I'm replumbing the whole thing with -10 AN (5/8") from the tank to a new Aeromotive A1000 pump and then -8 AN (1/2") from the pump to the engine. Hope to have it up and running this weekend. Should have zero fuel supply problems after this.

I was thinking about putting an Aeromotive A1000 in the Z-car a couple of years ago. I think those things will support about 1000HP in a gasoline engine, so you're gonna have plenty of juice in the diesel.

Yep.. it is rated for 1200hp.. I've got the pump mounted, wired, and all the plumbing in place from the pump to the engine. Found out that my tank feed hose is too short by about 2 inches, so I gotta go get a couple of -10 unions to fill in the gap.

I hve it mounted directly to the frame. Ran the pump for a second to see what kinda noise its going to make and it wasnt too bad. I should have it running again by this afternoon.
