Alright, I know there's not anybody else over here, but just thought I'd post up anyway.
This Friday 5/05 there will be a cleanup day at the Virtue Flats OHV near Baker City, starting at 9 am. There should be contractors on hand also working on the rock garden, but they aren't completely confirmed on that, so at the very least we'll do some cleanup and get to know everybody. Saturday the plan is to play around and do some wheeling. There will be modded rigs with tires as big as 40" and some stock rigs too (ifs 4runner, etc), so feel free to bring whatever. I've never had the truck there, just the dirtbike, and there's a lot of variety, but it's not a huge place. Either way, it's a good way to get out and put in a show for responsible use of the OHV areas we've been given! Speaking of which, here's the website: http://www.oohva.org/ohv%20area%20pages/virtue.html Virtue Flats is unique in that it is completely free range, while there are trails, even some with markers, it is not necessary to stay on them. We all appreciate it if you don't tear up the land, but feel free to roam where you will. If you'd like any more information, feel free to post here or PM me, I don't have all the info but can find it out, just lemme know. |

No views even? I ended up not going on Saturday, they decided not to do a cleanup and worked on the rock garden some, for which they had more than enough people. However I went on Sunday:
All 4 rigs, TJ on 34s, stock Rubi, YJ on 35s, me Sliders Another pic of the slider, with my custom flared fender, did the same thing on both sides I did a lot of this And one of these And this may have been the highlight Yep, two winches, and even then they barely got me out! Both used snatch blocks, the YJ has an 8000 lb winch, and the TJ has a 9000 lb winch. Even then, they BARELY got me drug up that last piece there. All in all, I got a few dings, rubbed my tires on my fenders in every way imaginable, and drove a lot better than I thought I would, so I'm happy. |

Lol, that guy had hardly any body damage before last weekend. He ended up flopping it on both sides, once trying to follow a CJ-bodied EB on 40s, and then the second time he was driving up a ravine that we all couldn't even drive down, and ended up doing most of it on his side.
But yeah, they're really nice tires. He just bought them and the sidewalls don't flex very well just yet, but I'm looking forward to seeing how they work out for him. I'm thinking about the same thing in the 33" flavor for my HB when I get the D44 under it. |
