Okay I'm trying to remove the Filler Plug from my Rear differential 1998 Frontier 4x4. Tried Air-Impact wrench, Manual/Hammer Impact wrench, Broke Two 1/2 Breaker-Bars [one huskey, one Craftsman]and was lifting the back-end up with the jack under the Breaker-Bars!!! And packed dry ice and alternated with heat....at wits-end...any suggestions!!!???? And soaked with Liquid-wrench/penetrant...makes Nice fire with torch!!! |

I hope you're turning counterclockwise.... And that you return the breakers to respective stores for free replacement.
Is the square hole stripped out? ..................... "Climate change is no longer science. It's politics... Climate change is also about power. Power to control.... It's about who gets to decide: how much energy we will have... where that energy will come from... what it will cost... It's about simulations, scenarios and monsters conjured up by computer models that should never be used to chart government policy -- especially on matters that will profoundly affect our livelihoods, living standards, life spans and dreams of a better future. To get those things out, I usually have to use a 1/2" breaker bar and a sledgehammer on the end of the bar. They get stuck in there pretty good if they havent been out in a long time.

If you put teflon tape on there before you put it back in (should you ever get it out) it will come out easier next time and be less prone to leaking.

This is odd. I've never had any problems removing my fill plugs.

Yep, click on the banner ad. There's a parts request form and they'll email you a price typically same day.

If the fluids were changed by the dealer then they used an air ratchet. It's much harder to brake torque on a nut/bolt which was installed with an air ratchet.
Air tools can be evil. In my opinion should only be used to break torque. Once torque is broke you should use a regular ratchet. 1995 KC XE-V6 4x4. |
